CORNBREAD AND BUTTER

Although I'm French, I love this Thanksgiving tradition in the States. My American friends (yes yes my real friends who live in the US!) shared with me their best recipes, to my greatest happiness! And I have a choice: one from Louisiana, one from Indiana, and one from Pennsylvania. This means as many different recipes as in the states!

You must :

° 150 grams flour
° 200 g of cornmeal (or ultra-fine polenta)
° 1 teaspoon salt
° 2 teaspoons yeast
° 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
°50 grams melted butter
° 2 eggs
° 35 cl of milk

Heat the oven to 180 degrees.
Mix the flour with the cornmeal, salt, baking powder and sugar.
Add melted butter, eggs and milk.
Mix well so that no lumps remain.
Pour this preparation into a mold (I take a cake mold, it is easier to make nice slices).
Cook for 30 minutes.
When the mold has cooled, unwrap the bread and cut it into slices or cubes.

Enjoy !
